Meet the OK Runners: Jeni Pierce

Opportunity Knocks is an official charity partner of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon!! Runners will be fundraising for Opportunity Knocks as they train to run 26.2 miles on October 8, 2017.

Where/when was your first marathon? Chicago – 2014

How many marathons have you run? 1

Most memorable race/run? Disneyland Tinkerbell Half Marathon with my sister!

Hot or Cold weather running? COLD(ish)- I melt in the heat!

Favorite post race food? Brunch!! 

Pre-race routines? (night before or morning of) Early to bed because I am NOT a morning person!

Flat course or hills? Flat. Though I do love a good California mountain run with my brother-in-law! 

What’s the farthest you’ve ever run at one time? 26.2 miles!

Why do you run? It’s my escape! My chance to clear my head and push myself physically and mentally!!

Why are you running for Opportunity Knocks? because…THE WARRIORS!! I aways thought I would never run a marathon again (especially after breaking my leg last year -it’s okay I got doctor approval!!) and then the chance to run for Opportunity Knocks came up and I couldn’t say no! There aren’t many people I would run 26.2 miles for – the Warriors are just awesome!
